My bridesmaid doesn’t like her dress that I bought and now it’s arrived. What can we do?
Hmmm, I take it it’s not returnable?
Is there anything you can do to make it better? Alterations? A bolero or cardigan? A belt?
If not, there are a few options:
1) Have her wear it anyway, because it is paid for
2) Buy her a new dress
3) Have her buy a new dress
4) Have her wear something she already owns.
If you are having a matching bridal party, that complicates matters.
I guess an important thing is, how bad is it?
Does she just not like the colour? Or is it poorly fitting, and you can see why she doesn’t feel good in it?
Ultimately, it’s a judgement call. If you think she is being a bit whiny, and she looks fine, reassure her.
If it looks like she might have a wardrobe malfunction at any minute, sort out an alternative.
And try not to get caught up in, ‘She’s being so demanding! Can’t she just suck it up for one day!’.
You can find a solution together. After all, you were the one who created the problem by dictating what dress she was going to wear.
